Fair Split

How a live party hunt works, and the math behind splitting loot so nobody loses a single gold coin.

The problem it solves

In a party hunt, balances almost never end up equal. One player burns more supplies, another is luckier with loot, someone holds an item nobody else wants. Working out who owes what by hand means cross-checking everyone's log after every hunt.

Running a live party

Open Party → Fair Split in the rail.

  1. The leader creates a party. JososLab gives you a party token.
  2. Share the token with your party. Each member opens Fair Split and pastes it under Join.
  3. Everyone pastes their own Hunt Analyser in Data Input and sends it. The leader also pastes the Party Hunt Analyser from the game.

Warning: Before copying the Party Hunt Analyser, the leader should set its loot value to NPC prices. With Leader (custom prices) or Market (an average that keeps changing), the balances change and the split won't come out even.

  1. The leader clicks Lock & Calculate. Everyone sees the same result at the same time.
  2. Pay and mark it. When the transfers are done, the leader marks the party as Paid.

The party appears as LIVE while it's open. The leader can generate a new token at any time; the button asks you to confirm first.

Tip: Only splitting loot and not tracking your own hunt? You can use Fair Split without filling in the rest of HuntLab. HuntLab, Fair Split and Build are views of the same workspace, so you can switch between them with the tabs at the top at any time: your analysers, the live party and its results come along. While the party is locked your analysers can't change, but Peak XP/h stays editable.

The math

Gold transfers

With everyone's data in, the engine computes each player's liquid balance: their balance minus the value of the items they keep. It takes the average as the fair share and finds the smallest number of gold transfers that brings everybody to it. No unnecessary back-and-forth.

Item transfers

This is the part most tools skip. The engine also works out who should hand which items to whom, so everyone ends up with a fair share of what was actually looted, not just a number on a screen.

Reading the results

Party Results shows:

  • Bank transfers: who sends gold to whom, ready to copy as in-game transfer commands.
  • Item transfers: who hands over which items.
  • Total products: everything the party looted.
  • Details: the liquid balance of every member, so you can check every number.

After the hunt

Every party you lock and calculate is saved automatically in Parties & Teams. Unpaid transfers become debts until someone marks them as paid.
